Overview

The Gumstix Interface Board (GIB) adds a powerful Linux controller to either the iRobot Create or Roomba robots. The board supports any of the Gumstix processor boards. Gumstixes are small Linux computers that fit in the palm of your hand. The Gumstix products offer a well-supported, open source software development kit so that you can quickly get your robot application up and running. Both the Connex and Verdex Gumstix motherboards have WiFi-capable expansion boards available, making it easy to build a wireless robot which can be programed and controlled remotely.

Features

  • Provides a complete Gumstix motherboard to iRobot Create or Roomba interface
  • Compatible with the Basix, Connex and Verdex motherboards
  • Dual high-efficiency switching power supplies maximize battery life
  • The GIB connects to the standard Gumstix 60-pin expansion port
  • Provides all the necessary logic-level conversion circuitry
  • The USB serial console eliminates bulky RS-232 connectors
  • The USB host connector enables easy connection to a USB flash drive or web camera
  • Dual 5.0 logic-level I2C port enables the addition of a wide range of off-the-shelf robotic sensors and controllers
